Shivamogga: The Shivamogga district will witness a partial lockdown from July 16, until further notice.
However, commercial activities will be allowed in the district till 2 PM.
Addressing a meeting, district in-charge minister KS Eshwarappa made this announcement on Wednesday, July 15.
Petrol pumps, liquor shops, and offices all set-ups to close by 2 PM. However, no restrictions have been imposed on agricultural activities. Even industrial activities don’t have a time restriction.
No festivities can be celebrated on a public platform. The existing rules on wedding and other rituals like last rites etc. will continue to be in place.
Strict action will be taken against those violating the lockdown rules including not maintaining social distance and not wearing masks in public places.
