Urban Development Minister Byrati Suresh made an unannounced visit to Shivamogga City Corporation (SCC) on Saturday, inspecting various sections and addressing public grievances.

During the visit, the minister investigated complaints lodged through the grievance cell. Upon randomly selecting and calling a complainant about a clogged drain unresolved for 20 days, he discovered inaction by health inspector Venugopal. Minister Suresh reprimanded the official and directed SCC Commissioner Kavita Yogappanavar to suspend Venugopal immediately, requesting a copy of the suspension order.

The minister also interacted with senior citizens struggling to open bank accounts due to server issues, pledging that their accounts would be processed within a week. He personally shared his contact details to ensure timely resolution.

Suresh emphasized accountability and warned officials of strict action for neglecting public grievances.
