In a heartbreaking sequence of events, Karnataka witnessed the untimely deaths of three students in separate incidents. In Shivamogga, 20-year-old Dhruva, a degree student at Tunga College, allegedly died by suicide by jumping into the Malati River. A resident of Varalli village, T hirthahalli Taluk, Dhruva’s body was recovered, and the Agumbe police are investigating. The reason behind his actions remains unknown.
In another incident in Shivamogga, a 17-year-old second-year PUC student collapsed and died while being taken to a hospital. The incident occurred at Imperial College in Nanjappa Layout. The student, known to have a history of low blood pressure, fainted near the principal’s office. Despite efforts to rush her to a hospital, she passed away en route. CCTV footage from the campus captured the management’s efforts to assist her. The principal confirmed the parents were aware of her health condition.
In Bengaluru, a 16-year-old first-year PUC student from Bangalore International School died allegedly by jumping from the 7th floor of his apartment building, Mantri Splendour. The incident, which occurred late at night, is under investigation. The police are working to uncover the circumstances and reasons behind this tragic act.
These incidents underscore the urgent need for mental health awareness, proactive health monitoring, and preventive care for students.
