Singer’s Elon Musk Look-Alike Status Brings Fame He Never Wanted

A 28-year-old musician from Luxembourg has unexpectedly become a viral sensation, thanks to his remarkable resemblance to tech billionaire Elon Musk. However, he isn’t thrilled about the attention. As reported by SWNS, the singer insists that being compared to Musk is far from flattering.

Hugo One, a singer and former language teacher, said he’s often mistaken for Musk in public settings like grocery stores and pubs. In a recent Instagram video, a group of students can be seen excitedly yelling “You’re Elon Musk!” while crowding for selfies—only to be surprised when Hugo clarified he wasn’t the billionaire entrepreneur.

He noted that such encounters occur at least twice a month, with strangers frequently requesting selfies. While he finds the experience tiresome, Hugo admitted to appreciating his own appearance, and made it clear that he has no intention of altering his looks.

Despite occasionally laughing it off, Hugo doesn’t see the resemblance as praise. He told the New York Post: “I don’t find it a compliment because I think Musk isn’t a kind person, and I don’t consider him attractive either.”

Still, he acknowledged that the incident with the students—one of five similar episodes that night—brought more traffic to his social media and boosted downloads of his music.

His first comparison to Musk came in 2018, when a student pointed it out while Hugo was teaching English and French in Germany. “As long as people understand I don’t share Musk’s opinions, I can tolerate the likeness,” he concluded.
