In an effort to uplift spiritual tourism, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has introduced a fresh guided tour named Divya Darshana. Launching on May 31, the service is scheduled to run on weekends and public holidays.
Riding on the overwhelming response to past offerings like Bengaluru Darshini and exclusive trips to the Isha Foundation — which drew over 50,000 participants last year — BMTC now extends another spiritually enriching journey in air-conditioned buses.
According to Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, the day-long spiritual voyage kicks off at 8:30 a.m. from Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic) and concludes by 6:05 p.m. The objective is to promote local temple tourism, offer affordable travel for pilgrims, and increase BMTC’s revenue through higher commuter engagement. Residents, however, have voiced the need for more departure points across the city for better accessibility.
The thoughtfully planned itinerary includes visits to eight sacred destinations:
- Sri Gali Anjaneya Swamy Temple
- Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple
- Shrungagiri Shanmukha Swamy Temple
- Sri Devi Karumari Amman Temple
- Omkar Hills Temple
- ISKCON Vaikuntha Hill (Vasanthapura)
- Art of Living Ashram
- Banashankari Temple
Ticket prices are ₹450 for adults and ₹350 for children, taxes included. Bookings can be secured on the KSRTC website (www.ksrtc.in), or through BMTC’s helplines: 080-22483777 / 7760991170.
This serene city circuit promises devotion, discovery, and comfort in one soulful ride.
