Raghu Shastry who previously made Run Anthony with Vinay Rajkumar, got everyone to sit up and take notice of him when the film released and drew rave reviews. Raghu returns to direction with Takkar this season starring Darshan Thoogudeepa’s nephew Manoj. 
Raghu had previously worked as an assistant director with many leading names including Nagathihalli Chandrashekar and Anurag Kashyap. The young director is confident of his latest film and says it’s an out and out commercial film with heavy-duty action just like the title suggests. Starring Ranjani Raghavan of Kannadathi fame, the movie has been shot in exotic locations including in and around Bengaluru, Mysuru and Malaysia. Takkar also stars Saurav Lokesh, Sumithra, Sridhar, Jai Jagadeesh, Shankar Ashwath, Sadhu Kokila and others in the film.
William David has helmed the camera and Manikanth Kadri has scored the music. KM Prakash has edited the film. Takkar has been made under SLN Creations and been produced by K N Nagesh Kogilu who had previously made Huliraya.
