There have been many speculations regarding Darshan’s 50th film. Initially it was assumed that his brother Dinakar Thoogadeepa was supposed to direct his 50th film. The film was dropped. Later, M D Sridhar was supposed to direct “Veeram” remake.Even that project was dropped. Later it was said that Tarun Sudhir, who directed Darshan in a cameo role in “Chowka”, was supposed to direct his 50th film. However, now it has been announced that Darshan’s 50th film will be titled “Kurukshetra” and will be helmed by Naganna, who also directed his magnum opus “Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna.”
Darshan will be playing Duryodhana in his 50th film. As of now, Ambareesh as Bheeshma and V Ravichandran as Dharmaraya are on the team. The film is expected to go on floors on July 23. Veteran composer and lyricist Hamsalekha has been roped in for the music and songs.
Jayashree Devi who returned as a co-producer in “Mukunda Murari” is producing the film. Darshan’s 48th film “Chakravarthy” is releasing next week and his 49th, Taarak, directed by Milana Prakash is expected to release by year end.
