“Navarasa Nayaka” Jaggesh has blatantly criticized the dubbing culture in Sandalwood, calling it ‘unholy.’
He made this comment against the dubbing of other language movies in Kannada during the movie poster release event of Vijay Raghavendra-starrer “Malgudi Days”.
“The court has given permission to dub other language films in Kannada. Even though there is permission under the law to dub other language movies in Kannada, Karnataka’s cinema lovers have openly rejected such movies and have given a befitting reply against the dubbing culture. This is an ‘unholy’ culture,” he said.
Opining that the dubbing culture will not help the industry and the artistes grow, the actor said, “One must remember that the cinema is like a ‘universe’ to the artistes and the people who watch it are ‘Gods’. It is only when people come to watch movies that the film industry and the artistes earn their bread. This is when the industry and artistes flourish.”
