Ere Gowda’s directorial debut film “Bale Kempa” has been nominated for the New York International Film Festival 2018. The film has been nominated under two categories viz., Best Film and Best Director.
Ere Gowda also wrote the screenplay for “Thithi”, which gained recognition not only at the state level, but also at the national and international levels.
After that, Ere Gowda planned to make his debut as a director and now, he is ready with his first directorial. “Bale Kempa” has already bagged the FIPRESCI Award at the Roterdam International Film Festival, “for its subtle and delightful portrayal of a universal theme against the background of a rich local culture.”
“Bale Kempa” otherwise known as “Bangle Seller”, is about the relationship between a bangle seller and his wife. It is being produced by Vivek Gomber, who had earlier produced the Marathi film “Court.”
The film stars Jnanesh, Bhagyasri, Chandrashekhar and Nagaraju in prominent roles. Benedict Taylor and Naren Chandarvarkar have composed the music for the film.
