Bengaluru: March 22, the much-awaited Tulu film directed by senior film maker Kudlu Ramakrishna and produced by Dubai based entrepreneur Harish Sherigar and his wife Sharmila Sherigar is done with shooting.
The film, as per the makers has a very strong social message capsuled in it, but however, the highlight of the film is the special appearance of Padmashri Dr B R Shetty in one of the songs of the film.
The film’s cast and crew held a press meet in Bengaluru and addressing the gathering Padmashri Dr B R Shetty himself narrated his experience of acting in the film.
Stating that how he had to toil very hard for over five hours to help the team incorporate five minutes of his appearance in the film, Dr Shetty lauded the entire artists’ fraternity across the world for their hard work and dedication towards their respective fields of art.
Recalling how he had to go to the oil-rich Middle East way back in 70s to repay a loan that he had borrowed to build a house in his native place, Dr Shetty opened the pages of his life during the meet as he elaborated on hardships that led to making of a success story.
However, talking about the film, he lauded the entire team for making a film that was socially relevant today.
Director Kudlu Ramakrishna said that he is excited about the film because of its content and this being his 26th film is going to be very special.
He said that though Anant Nag and Lakshmi were the first choice for the film, due to unavoidable circumstances, Lakshmi could not be a part of the movie and hence senior actor Geetha was roped in.
NRI and ACME Movies International Chief Harish Sherigar said that the sole aim of the film is to talk about issues that concern the society the most.
“The film talks of importance of water and the title March 22 signifies World Water Day,” he said adding that the film will hit the screens in June.
Veteran actor Anant Nag, Geetha, Ramesh Bhat, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Jai Jagdish, Vinaya Prasad, Padmaja Rao and several other big names of the industry are a part of this film.
The film has Ayurvardhan and Kiran Raj in lead roles while Meghashri and Deepthi Shetty are the female leads.
Senior actor Ramesh Bhat, Padmaja Rao and others were present.
