Popular Tollywood actress Payal Rajput, known for her role in the horror film ‘Mangalvaaram,’ has expressed keen interest in auditioning for the upcoming Kannada film ‘Kantara Chapter 1, The Prequel.’
After Kannada actor and director Rishab Shetty opened auditions for the film, Payal Rajput conveyed her interest and requested the opportunity to audition. The casting call by Hombale Films sought men aged 30 to 60 and women aged 18 to 60 for roles in the movie.
Payal Rajput, in her response, expressed eagerness to be part of the project, highlighting her interest in the acclaimed film ‘Kantara,’ which was a hit in 2022. She also encouraged Rishab Shetty to watch her recent release ‘Mangalvaaram’ to assess her acting prowess.

In her statement, Payal mentioned her awareness of the ongoing auditions for ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ and expressed enthusiasm to contribute to the esteemed project. ‘Kantara,’ directed by Rishab Shetty, explores the story of a man who grows up without a father and later assumes the role of the village’s Bhoota Kola. The film delves into traditional and cultural practices of the 300CE era. ‘Kantara: Chapter 1, The Prequel’ is scheduled for release in 2025.
