Bengaluru: The video singles of ‘Sanihaa’ in Kannada and ‘Darmiyaan’ is Hindi conceptualised and created by Music artiste Nikhil Kumar and his team was released at a special screening on December 17.
For the first time in the world of Kannada music, a Kannadiga has come out with a single, “Darmiyaan”, a bilingual track in Kannada and Hindi.
The concept of a single which is prevalent in western pop music and also Bollywood, is now brought into Kannada by composer, programmer and music producer Nikhil Kumar, who is a product of the Los Angeles School of Music.
“Darmiyaan” is an evocative Urdu word of Persian origin and means “middle/midst/midst/ in-between. Example – “Kuch toh thaa tere mere darmiyaan” (there was something between you and me). “Sanihaa” in Kannada means close or closeness.
The video of the song features actress Shraddha Benaki and Nikhil Kumar and the video story revolves around the theme of love and trust. Nihkhil Kumar has composed the music for the lyrics written by Srinivas Naidu and Raghu C V. The song has been rendered by Gaurav B?G, Akshatha Achar and Nikita Rathnakar. Sharath Kottikal has directed the video.
