Teachers mould clay called students, says G Noronha

Dubai: The 35th episode of NewsKarnataka.com’s Namaste Teacher was held on Friday August 12 at 6.30 pm IST.

The guest teacher for the evening was Grace Noronha. The special guests of the evening were her students, Adith Boloor, PhD Student (Computer Science), MEing Robotics, Washington University, St. Louis, USA, Violet D’Souza, Principal, Nausar, U S Nagar, Uttarakhand, Dr. Praseeda Sridharan, Senior Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Physician, Kaiser Permanente, USA and Prajwal Shenoy M., II Year MBBS Student, A. J. Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangaluru.

The event host was Spearhead Media Group Mentor and Advisor CA Valerian Dalmaida.

Through teacher-student interaction, the series strives to highlight teachers and their impact on students. The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

In the beginning of the show Valerian Dalmaida introduced the guests and welcomed them.

Grace Noronha shared the highs and lows in her career. She recalled the phases such as marriage and health deterioration of her mother-in-law which caused a challenge in her career and also shared on how she bounced back.

Dr. Praseeda Sridharan becoming nostalgic with a tear-filled eyes expressed, “Grace ma’am was never judgmental and she entered as my teacher during a transition period where I had change of school.”

Adith Boloor shared, “My encounter with Noronha ma’am was strange as she was a principal I was always frightened while conversing with her. Being a school pupil leader, she an emphathetic principal was always my learning lesson.”

Violet D’Souza expressed, “She was my mentor more than a teacher. As a principal she brought out hidden potentials within me.”

Prajwal Shenoy expressed, “Grace ma’am was an individual who boosted my talent and moulded my personality. She was my go to person.”

Discussing the role of teachers in evolving personality of individual students, she expressed, “The power of teacher cannot be underestimated. Teachers are path finders and so teachers have to be aware that, they are moulding a clay which will see its fortune in coming days.”

Both teachers and students appreciated the initiative of NewsKarnataka. Valerian Dalmaida expressing gratitude signed off.
