Although there are numerous discussions about the need for and methods of empowering women in the corporate and start-up ecosystems, this should not be a big issue at all. Women should be treated equally with men in general.

It is encouraging to see how start-ups in India are leading the way in terms of closing the gender gap in leadership positions. Even in the twenty-first century, if we see racial discrimination, the term “equality” has no meaning. Women today are no less than men, and their growth in almost every sector is remarkable, even in this male-dominated society.

Here are a few more reasons why women should work.

One learns, and eventually becomes self-sufficient

You improve when you connect. Equality is important to you. You inspire others, value your time, and thus feel self-sufficient.

You have your own identity

Your identity extends beyond being a wife, daughter, and mother. It has been noticed that when a woman marries or becomes a mother, she starts losing her own identity and individuality. In this society, having your own self-identity is essential for your own growth and confidence. Working outside the home assists women in maintaining and developing their sense of self. If a woman wishes to work and be self-sufficient, her family should encourage and support her. Working provides her with knowledge and empowers her to make responsible decisions. Including women in the workforce benefits not only the organisation but also society.

Financial independence

The most important factor influencing a woman’s life quality is financial independence. It is one of the most liberating aspects that you require in order to live a quality life with respect. Earning money will give you a sense of accomplishment and self-identity, allowing you to grow as a better and more self-sufficient human being.
