‘Bhatra Kallurti’ video song ‘hit’s over 1.10 lakh views in 60 days on YouTube

Mangaluru: A group of six people from the Dakshina Kannada district have released a devotional song video ‘Bhatra Kallurti’, which has received a massive response on YouTube with its views reaching over 1.10 lakh within a short span of 60 days.

This video song was produced under the banner of ‘Peeta Creations.’ The song is pertaining to the glory and prominence of a shrine ‘Bhatra Kallurti’ situated near a famous temple Kudupu Shri Anantha Padamanabha. A large number of devotees visit this shrine and offer prayers round the year.

Considering the glory of this shrine, a group of six members decided to come out with a video song titled ‘Bhatra Kallurti. As this video song is about Dakshina Kannada district’s famed tradition of spirit worship, it has received a huge response from the public. Soon after it was uploaded on YouTube, a large number of people viewed this video and liked it. It has been viewed by over 1.10 lakh people till date.

Though this team of six members produced this video song and achieved success in their effort, none among them is a professional but they are passionate about music and making short films. Dileep Kumar Rai, who is working as an assistant researcher in Kodava Samskrithika Adhyayana Peeta in Mangalore University took the responsibility of ‘directing this video song. The others who assisted in producing this video song are Yathish Kudupu, an assistant researcher in Ambigara Chowdaiah Adhyana Peeta in Mangalore University, computer technician Deepak Shetty, Shivaprakash, who is working as a clerk in a bank and Mahesh Moolya and Gunakar Puttur, who are working as librarians in a private college. As these youth are passionate about producing short films, they decided to produce a video song, pertaining to the shrine of ‘Bhatra Kallurti.’

Srujan Kumar Thonse has scored the music for this song and two budding singers Chinmaya Kalladka and Madhuraj have sung it. The lyrics are by budding talent Yathish Kudupu. Nagendra Kudupu and Anil Kudupu have provided the background music. The song was recorded by Kishan Narayana.

‘We are motivated now’

Director Dileep Kumar Rai told Newskarnataka.com that the team had produced this video song just out of passion. “We don’t have any plan of generating income from this video song. As it is our passion, we are giving an opportunity to the budding talents. As the video song has received a huge response in a short span, we are really motivated now. It will help us do more such works in future”, he says.
