India’s love towards cricket is a national obsession and the nation as a whole enjoys the game. Almost every cricket-watching kid while growing up dreams of playing a game for the country.

Millions watch cricket in India and thousands of them play the sport. The journey of cricket for any kid begins in school and when the performances get better and hard work takes them to the next level. Club cricket plays a very important role in the cricketer’s career and that shapes them to improve.

Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy are the most prominent domestic tournaments and the performances of players in these competitions earn them a national cap.

For decades until now, the selection of players to represent Team India has been made seeing their domestic first-class cricket. But, in recent years there have been little controversies over not selection. Many inform players and talents who pulled dream statistics and won titles for the team they represent not getting called up, instead people who perform well in IPL, a franchise T20 league, are given chances.

Players who perform well in limited-over cricket and T20 leagues are given chances in Test
cricket over a player who had a dream run in Ranji cricket. This is a real heartbreak to the players who do well in first-class cricket.
