Bengaluru: Pavan Kumar, the talented and much appreciated Kannada director who won the hearts of Sandalwood film lovers with his masterpiece Lucia, has made the news yet again with the announcement of his upcoming project.
The director who had announced his next project C10 H14 N2 earlier has put the project on hold and has started working on a mystery thriller called ‘U-turn’, the trailer and the special making video of which has already gone viral on YouTube and social media.
Pavan Kumar’s Lucia was well appreciated by not only the Kannada Industry but the entire Indian film fraternity itself.
Pavan had the Indian film industry awe with his creative techniques of promotion and the response he received was commendable. The trailer of his new venture U-turn has already received more than 2 lakh viewers.
Speaking about the conception of his new project U-turn, Pavan said, “In July, when I was taking my daughter Lucy to school and we were caught in traffic, the story came into my mind. I parked my vehicle near the school, sat there for an hour and started working on the script. In the next 2-3 days the story was formed”.
On his decision to cast a set of fresh faces, he said that although he did wish to cast the big names of the industry, his low budget did not give him the luxury to do so.
The talented cast included newcomer Shraddha Shrinath who will be playing the lead role along with Dileep Raj, a Kannadiga residing in the US. Hollywood star Roger Narayan will be playing a police officer while Rangitaranga fame Radhika Chethan will be playing one of the front runner roles in the film.
The technical team includes Siddharth Nooni, Sathya Hegde and Advaitha as cinematographers. The same team worked on Lucia as well. Purnachandra Tejaswi of Lucia fame has rendered the music for the movie.
The film is produced by Audience Films in collaboration with Pawan Kumar Studios, his own production house.
