Daniel Monteiro, a renowned philatelist from Kumrugodu village, Brahmavar, secured a silver medal at the Asian International Stamp Exhibition ‘JAKARTA-2024,’ held from July 3 to 7 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Monteiro was honored for his impressive collection of Peacock Stamps.
Monteiro has previously earned accolades at various national and international philatelic exhibitions across countries such as Hong Kong, China, Korea, South Africa, Thailand, Indonesia, Austria, Belgium, Macao, Singapore, Bangladesh, Dubai, and India. He holds a Guinness World Record, two Limca Records, three India Book of Records, and a Unique World Record. Additionally, he has received the district Rajyosthava award along with several state and national honors.
Active in the philatelic community, Monteiro is a member of the Dakshina Kannada Philatelists and Numismatics Association in Mangaluru, the Manipal University Philatelic and Numismatics Club, and the Karnataka Philatelic Society in Bengaluru.
