Abhinav Manohar has expressed his admiration for Ashish Nehra, citing the former Indian fast bowler’s influence on the team environment at Gujarat Titans as a key learning experience. As he prepares for the third edition of the Shriram Capital Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20, starting August 15, Manohar aims to carry these lessons forward with the Shivamogga Lions.
Manohar praised Nehra for fostering a positive and energetic atmosphere at the Gujarat Titans, which he believes was crucial for the team’s success. “The atmosphere at the Gujarat Titans was unmatched, and a lot of credit goes to Ashish Nehra. His energy is infectious, almost like a child’s,” Manohar remarked. He hopes to replicate this supportive environment with the Shivamogga Lions.
In the upcoming Maharaja Trophy Season 3, held at the iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium, Manohar will not only play as a senior with IPL experience but will also be the highest-paid player in the tournament for the second consecutive year. Despite the pressure, Manohar remains focused on his goal: “Whether it’s five lakhs or 15 lakhs, my aim is to win matches and contribute effectively.”
Manohar emphasized the importance of creating a conducive dressing room environment to maximize the team’s potential. With a deep squad and several promising young players, he believes fostering the right atmosphere is key.
Reflecting on his preparations, Manohar has been adjusting his batting and is eager for the tournament to begin. He also sees the Maharaja Trophy as a vital platform for emerging talent in Karnataka.
