In relation to the rape of a 17-year-old girl, a Nepalese court sentenced cricket player Sandeep Lamichhane to eight years in prison.
Sandeep Lamichhane was cleared of rape last month following multiple delays, allowing him to resume his cricket career. According to court official Ramu Sharma, the Shishir Raj Dhakal bench delivered the verdict of eight years in prison along with fines and compensation following a hearing today.
