Dharwad’s Nakshatra NG has made the city proud by clinching one silver and two bronze medals at the International Taekwondo Championship held in Malaysia from May 1 to 4. Competing in the 11–12 age group, Nakshatra showcased her talent in both patterns and sparring categories.

Daughter of Dr. Girija and Nagaraj, Nakshatra stood out among 1,500 participants from countries including India, Malaysia, Syria, and Bangladesh. At just 11 years old, she already boasts an impressive tally of 15 medals earned across national, zonal, and international platforms.

She is currently being trained by Puneeth and Pradeep in Bengaluru, whose mentorship has played a key role in her early success. Nakshatra’s dedication and achievements mark her as a rising star in Indian martial arts.
