Legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has recommended Indian captain Rohit Sharma perform pre-batting exercises to improve footwork. Rohit struggled with the bat in the pink-ball Test, scoring just 6 and 9 in two innings. His dismissals highlighted issues with his foot movement, as bowlers Pat Cummins and Scott Boland exploited his crease-bound stance.
Gavaskar advised Rohit to jog or perform leg exercises before batting to increase circulation and address his historically slow foot movement, which has worsened with age.
India ended Day 2 at 128/5, still trailing by 29 runs, with Rishabh Pant and Nitish Reddy their last hope for recovery. The pair faces a tough challenge on Day 3 against a strong bowling attack.
