Colombo: India delivered a dominant all-round performance to storm into the finals of the 1st Women’s T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind with a resounding 9-wicket victory over Australia at the historic P. Sara Oval on Friday. The semi-final win was powered by Player of the Match Basanti Hansda, whose composed 45 off 39 balls anchored India’s clinical chase.
India restrict Australia with disciplined bowling and sharp fielding
With overnight showers leaving the outfield damp, India’s decision to field first proved decisive. The bowling unit kept Australia under sustained pressure, backed by sharp fielding led by skipper Deepika’s brilliant run-out, which shifted the game firmly in India’s favour.

Australia managed 109/9 in 20 overs, with contributions from B3 batter Chanakan Buakhao (34 off 33) and wicketkeeper Julie Neumann (25 off 28). Extras (20) also added to the total.
Among bowlers, Simranjeet Kour (1/6), Anu Kumari (1/21) and Jamuna Rani Tudu (1/30) picked up wickets, while the fielding unit effected five run-outs, showcasing India’s alertness on the field.
