Key moments in the final
India elected to field first after winning the toss. Pakistan initially gained momentum with an 84-run stand between Sahidzada Farhan (57 off 38 balls) and Fakhar Zaman (46 off 35 balls). However, spinners Kuldeep Yadav (4/30) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/30) triggered a collapse, reducing Pakistan from 113/1 in 12.4 overs to 146 all out in 19.1 overs, with Jasprit Bumrah (2/25) taking the final wickets.
During India’s chase, the team stumbled to 20/3 after early wickets by Faheem Ashraf. Tilak Varma (69 off 53 balls)* and Sanju Samson (24 off 21 balls) stitched a crucial 57-run partnership, while Shivam Dube (33 off 22 balls) helped consolidate the innings with aggressive hitting. Rinku Singh, playing his first Asia Cup match, hit the winning runs on the first ball, sealing India’s victory.
Kuldeep Yadav, Abhishek Sharma, and Tilak Varma received individual awards from dignitaries, while Salman accepted the runners-up cheque from PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, which the Indian players did not acknowledge.
India’s dominance in T20Is
Under captain Suryakumar Yadav, India has maintained a dominant T20I record, winning 18 matches, losing just two, and tying two since Suryakumar took over the leadership. The Asia Cup win reinforces India’s strong position in international T20 cricket.
Conclusion
Abhishek Sharma’s remarkable consistency and pivotal performances played a key role in India’s Asia Cup triumph. Alongside contributions from teammates, the victory has been celebrated not just as a sporting achievement, but as a moment of pride for the Sharma family and the nation.
