Kohli urges BCCI to let players’ wives accompany them during overseas tour

New Delhi: Indian skipper, Virat Kohli has sent a plea to the Board of Control for Cricket(BCCI) to grant permission to players to be accompanied by their wives for the full duration of the overseas tour, unlike the current policy according to which the wives of players are allowed to accompany the players for not more than two weeks.

After a BCCI official approached the COA to discuss the issue with them, the COA informed the team manager to make a formal request first as it is a decision to be made on BCCI policy decision.

Anushka, Kohli’s wife has been travelling with Kohli overseas. Now Kholi wants to abolish the old policy and has asked for a new policy where wives should be allowed to travel with the Indian team for more than two weeks. Earlier this year, the BCCI had announced that wives and girlfriends of cricketers will be allowed to stay with their partners for a duration of two weeks while the team is touring overseas.

The wives of the players touring with the players have now become an issue. Kevin Pietersen, former English cricketer had once termed wives of the players touring with them as “a load of nonsense.”
