In a powerful display of solidarity, the Gujarat Titans are donning a lavender jersey during their home clash against the Lucknow Super Giants on May 22 in Ahmedabad — marking the third consecutive year of their cancer awareness initiative.
As part of this outreach, the franchise is distributing 30,000 lavender flags and 10,000 jerseys to fans in the stadium, aiming to inspire early detection and promote regular screenings. The event transforms the cricket arena into a canvas of support for cancer warriors.
GT COO Colonel Arvinder stated, “This initiative symbolises our ongoing battle against cancer. We are thankful for our fans, who amplify this vital message. On May 22, Ahmedabad will roar in unity for every individual touched by cancer.”
Captain Shubman Gill added, “Wearing lavender is more than just a gesture — it’s a commitment. We want to educate people that with timely care, cancer can be challenged and conquered. This jersey honours fighters, survivors, and those we’ve lost.”
The Gujarat Titans’ official video, featuring players in their lavender kit, has gone viral across platforms, drawing praise from fans and health advocates alike.
Beyond cricket, the match against LSG is a heartfelt tribute — a loud and proud reminder that sports can drive change.
