Abu Dhabi | In a new twist to the ongoing Asia Cup trophy controversy, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi has moved the trophy to an undisclosed location in Abu Dhabi.

A recent visit by a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official to the ACC headquarters in Dubai revealed that the trophy was no longer there. Staff members informed the official that the trophy had been removed and was now under Naqvi’s custody at an unknown site in Abu Dhabi.

This development follows a series of disputes after India won the Asia Cup final against Pakistan on September 28, 2025. The Indian team declined to accept the trophy from Naqvi, citing his previous anti-India statements. Subsequently, Naqvi took the trophy and medals back to the ACC office in Dubai, where they were reportedly locked away with instructions not to move them without his approval.

The relocation of the trophy has further escalated tensions between the BCCI and the ACC. The BCCI has issued a formal warning to Naqvi, demanding the immediate return of the trophy and threatening to escalate the matter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) if the issue is not resolved promptly.
