BENGALURU: The Mysuru District ‘A’ boys and girls teams have advanced to the semifinal league stage of the state sub-junior (U-13) basketball championship held at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium courts on Tuesday.
In the boys’ category, Mysuru secured a 64-47 victory over Yelahanka New Town BC. Key players Rohit and Daniel each contributed 12 points, leading the team to a 29-23 lead at half-time.
In the girls’ category, the Mysuru District ‘A’ team dominated with a 47-12 win over Bangalore Vanguards, showcasing their superior skills and teamwork.
Other quarterfinal results in the boys’ category included MCHS defeating PPC 56-48, with standout performances from Atulya (20 points) and Aadrit (12 points). Vimanapura SC beat Devanga Union 41-29, led by Siddanth’s 16 points. MCHS also won against Mandya District 44-16, with Atulya scoring 14 points and Ojasya adding 10 points.
In the girls’ category, Young Orion’s SC defeated Mandya District 46-26, with Linisha scoring 18 points and Miraya contributing 10 points. YMMA triumphed over Bangalore Sporting 48-37, driven by Shreeya’s 18 points and Swastika’s 11 points. Beagles BC won against MCHS 38-27, with Spandana and Nethra each scoring 13 points.
The teams advancing to the semifinal league are Mysuru District ‘A’, PPC, MCHS, and Yelahanka New Town BC in the boys’ category, and Mysuru District ‘A’, Young Orion’s, Beagles BC, and YMMA in the girls’ category.
In the state ‘A’ division basketball league championship, Shashank Rai and Shailen led Mangalore BC to a 73-67 victory over IBBC. Shashank scored 28 points, while Shailen added 24 points, giving Mangalore a narrow 31-27 lead at half-time. Vivek’s SC also secured a win, defeating GST & Customs 77-68.
