Rajat Patidar admitted Royal Challengers Bengaluru were below par with the bat after their defeat to Delhi Capitals in the IPL clash at Bengaluru.
Following the loss, Patidar said RCB were around 15 to 20 runs short on a batting-friendly surface, adding that the team could not fully capitalise in the final overs.
Patidar points to batting shortfall
The RCB skipper said the side started positively but failed to build the momentum required for a bigger total. He noted that an additional 15-20 runs could have made the chase far more difficult for Delhi.
Patidar also praised the opposition for handling pressure well during the run chase.
Delhi Capitals continue strong form
Delhi Capitals chased confidently, with key middle-order contributions helping them cross the line. Their calm finish under pressure once again underlined their growing confidence this season.
For RCB, the defeat has raised fresh questions over finishing strongly with the bat and defending totals at home.
RCB look to bounce back
Despite the setback, Bengaluru supporters will hope the team responds quickly in upcoming matches as the playoff race begins to intensify.
Patidar’s honest assessment is likely to resonate with fans who felt the same after the narrow loss.
