Prasidh Krishna’s international cricket journey seemed to be gaining momentum before a lumbar stress fracture sidelined him in August 2022. Last year, a quadriceps injury ruled him out of the Indian Premier League (IPL), making it a challenging period for the 29-year-old pacer from Karnataka. This IPL season, playing for Gujarat Titans, his return was underwhelming, with Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer hitting him hard during a match in Ahmedabad. However, just days after this disappointing performance, Prasidh bounced back with a match-winning spell of 2/18 against Mumbai Indians, where his skill and variations proved too much for the opposition to handle.

As he heads back to the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru, where his cricketing journey began, Prasidh is eager to deliver for his team. “It’s great to come back home and play in the stadium that I’ve grown up playing in,” he shared before his team’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Reflecting on the changes in the T20 format during his injury hiatus, he acknowledged how the game has evolved. “The game has changed from 2022 to 2025. It did take some time for me to settle down. The game keeps moving forward, and you must keep up with it,” he said, admitting that the adjustment took time.

Despite the setbacks, Prasidh is in good physical condition and continues to push forward, thankful for the opportunity to compete again.
