Indian cricketer and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has been booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after a Ghaziabad-based woman filed serious allegations of sexual harassment, exploitation, and mental abuse against him.

Complaint details and case registration

The woman, in her complaint submitted via the Chief Minister’s grievance portal (IGRS), alleged that she was in a five-year relationship with the cricketer, during which he allegedly exploited her physically, mentally, and financially under the false promise of marriage.

Following a preliminary investigation, police found enough merit in her claims and registered a First Information Report (FIR) at Indirapuram police station. According to reports, Dayal allegedly borrowed money from the complainant and has repeatedly behaved similarly with other women in the past.

The woman has provided digital evidence, including chat records, video call screenshots, photographs, and other documentation to support her accusations.

Current status of the case

The police confirmed that a formal investigation is underway, and while Yash Dayal has not been arrested yet, further action is expected based on the ongoing inquiry and corroboration of facts.

The case has stirred significant attention both within cricket circles and the wider public, raising questions around consent, emotional manipulation, and the accountability of public figures in intimate relationships.

Statement from the complainant

The woman stressed that her decision to file a complaint was not driven by vengeance but by a desire to reclaim her dignity and empower other women who may be trapped in similar situations. She called on the legal system to take emotional and psychological trauma seriously and ensure justice is served impartially.
