Colombo: Hours after the Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket match of the Nidahas Trophy between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on March 17 was marred by some unpleasant actions at the ground, new images haves emerged which shows a broken glass door of the Bangladesh dressing room at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

According to media reports, the ground staff at the stadium has been instructed to identify the miscreants behind the incident by checking the CCTV footage.

As per the report, the door was damaged by some member of the Bangladeshi team while it was celebrating its victory over Sri Lanka.

Earlier, during the course of the match, tempers flared on the ground due to some confusion regarding a shoulder height no-ball when Shakib Al-Hasan asked his players to come back to the pavilion, and threatened to stage a walk-off. But when the umpires interfered, the play was resumed and Mahmudullah pulled Bangladesh out of the troubled waters and helped them to seal the match by two wickets.

Even after the winning six by Mahmudullah that sealed the match in the visitors’ favour, there was little customary handshake as players continued to show anger. Kusal Mendis, who is known generally for his cool and calm behaviour, was seen arguing with Bangladesh players, but was controlled on the field by Tamim Iqbal.
