Pakistan’s cricket team triumphed over South Africa in the third ODI of the Tri-Series on Wednesday, but it was a post-match moment that stole the show. A video of a South African cricketer, Wiaan Mulder, receiving the ‘Catch of the Match’ award worth 1 lakh PKR (approx ₹31,000) has quickly gone viral, bringing laughter to netizens.

In the footage, an official hands over the check to Mulder, who, as he steps forward for a photo opportunity, requests the official to adjust the way the check is held. What followed has left social media users in stitches.

While posing for the camera, Mulder asks the official to hold the check horizontally, but as the official attempts to comply, the check ends up being held upside down. Mulder then proceeds to change its position again, causing the official to adjust it once more. The quirky back-and-forth quickly became the talk of the internet.

The humorous scene sparked a wave of reactions from fans on social media. One user joked, “Champions trophy 2025 is gonna be a circus to watch … The Paki way [sic].” Another user commented, “100,000 PKR = $358 USD. That’s how much donation he’s getting?? [sic].”

The ongoing ODI Tri-Series, featuring Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand, began on February 8 in Rawalpindi, with the final match set for February 14 in Karachi, leading up to the ICC Champions Trophy starting February 19.
