Mysuru: The SSLC results for the 2024-25 academic year brought mixed emotions for Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts. While both districts dropped in overall rankings and pass percentages compared to last year, two Mysuru students achieved a rare feat — scoring a perfect 625/625.

In Mysuru district, 35,264 students appeared, and 24,116 passed, yielding a pass rate of 68.4%. This marks a significant drop from 73.4% in 2023-24, pushing the district down from 7th to 15th rank statewide. Chamarajanagar also saw a decline, slipping from 24th to 27th rank, with the pass percentage falling to 61.4% from last year’s 71.6%.

However, Dhanush S of Marimallappa’s High School and Thanya RN of BKSVB High School, Vijayanagar, emerged as shining stars. Both scored a full 625/625. Dhanush, who opted for Sanskrit as his third language, credited his success to early goal setting, daily study routines, and strategic preparation after the preparatory exams. His aspiration is to study medicine.

Thanya, who also dreams of a medical career, emphasized self-study over tuition. “I used to study late into the night — sometimes till 2 or 3am,” she shared.

District DDPI S T Javaregowda expressed concern over the district’s slide. “We aimed to be in the top five. We’ll analyse the results and implement corrective strategies to improve,” she assured.
