Apple is gearing up for the launch of the 11th-generation iPad in early 2025, following an update to its entire iPad lineup in 2024, with the exception of the entry-level model. According to a report by 9To5Mac, the new iPad will likely debut around the same time as iPadOS 18.3, which is expected to roll out officially in January 2025.
The new iPad 11 is not anticipated to undergo major aesthetic changes. However, performance improvements are expected, including the addition of the powerful A17 Pro chip, which would significantly boost the entry-level iPad’s capabilities. This upgrade would allow the iPad to support Apple Intelligence, a suite of artificial intelligence features. The new model will also come pre-installed with iPadOS 18.3.
One of the significant changes could be the introduction of Apple’s first modem for Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity, marking a shift away from Qualcomm’s chips. However, the new modem may not support mmWave 5G technology, which was introduced in the iPhone 12.
Apple is also planning to launch several new products, including a revamped iPhone SE 4 with the A18 chip, a new M4-powered MacBook Air, and an updated iPad Air with the M3 chip. Additionally, a second-generation AirTag and a new smart home display device are expected in early 2025.
