Bangalore soon to lead the nation with AI technology
On Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his optimism that Bengaluru would be the first city to roll out the nation’s pioneering foundational AI model. Speaking at the launch of Invest Karnataka 2025, he stated, “Whenever you question India’s potential or future, visit Bengaluru. See its flourishing IT industry, its vibrant startup ecosystem, and the innovation-driven spirit of its young entrepreneurs and technologies.”
The event, graced by the Defence Minister, also saw Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM D K Shivakumar, and several prominent political figures in attendance. The gathering included key players like M B Patil, Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, and Priyank Kharge, the IT and BT Minister of the state.
A major highlight was the introduction of a single-window system for investors, launched by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, which streamlines over 150 business services from 30-plus state departments, making the investment approval process quicker and simpler.
The New Industrial Policy for 2025-30 was also unveiled, aiming for a 12% annual growth in the manufacturing sector and a target investment of Rs 7.5 lakh crore. Several notable investments were announced, including a massive Rs 56,000 crore by JSW Neo Energy for renewable energy projects, along with Rs 50,000 crore from Tata Power and similar investments in renewable energy.
In addition, nine universities, including Dayananda Sagar and PES, are keen on joining the KWIN City initiative, further boosting the region’s educational landscape.
