Elon Musk is set to introduce Grok 3, which he calls the “smartest AI on Earth,” in a live showcase on Monday at 8 PM PT (Tuesday 9:30 AM IST). Musk, founder of xAI, spent the weekend fine-tuning the AI, describing it as “scary smart.” Speaking at the World Government Summit in Dubai, he claimed Grok 3 outperforms all existing AI models in internal tests.

The release comes amid fierce competition, with Chinese startup DeepSeek gaining attention in January for its R1 model. Grok 3 is xAI’s answer to the rising AI rivalry. Developed using xAI’s Colossus supercomputer, the model was trained over eight months with 100,000 Nvidia GPU hours. It integrates synthetic datasets and self-correction features to refine accuracy.

Significantly faster than its predecessor, Grok 3 is expected to be three times more efficient than Grok 2, launched in August 2024. Meanwhile, xAI is reportedly securing $10 billion in funding, potentially valuing the company at $75 billion. Investors such as Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz are said to be backing the expansion.

Grok AI is currently free on Musk’s social platform, X.com, but access to Grok 3 post-launch remains uncertain. With AI advancements intensifying, all eyes are on Musk’s latest tech breakthrough.
