New Delhi: Samsung has expanded its laptop portfolio with the launch of the new Galaxy Book 6, a 14-inch laptop aimed at users looking for a compact device for everyday work, entertainment and productivity. The latest model combines Intel processors with Galaxy AI features, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Samsung also claims that the laptop can deliver up to 25 hours of battery life on a single charge.
The Galaxy Book 6 is currently available in select international markets, while Samsung has not yet announced its launch details for India. The laptop starts at $799, which is approximately ₹75,800 based on the conversion cited in the report. It is offered in Violet Silver and Grey colour options.
Galaxy Book 6 gets 14-inch WUXGA display
The Samsung Galaxy Book 6 features a 14-inch WUXGA LCD display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. The screen uses a 16:10 aspect ratio and offers up to 350 nits of brightness.
Samsung has also added an anti-reflective coating to the display. This is designed to reduce glare and make the screen more comfortable for users who spend long periods working on the laptop.
The 16:10 aspect ratio provides additional vertical screen space compared with traditional 16:9 displays, which can be useful for browsing, document editing and productivity applications.
Intel processor and up to 16GB RAM
Under the hood, the Galaxy Book 6 can be configured with up to an Intel Core 5 processor. It also features an Intel Neural Processing Unit, or NPU, capable of delivering up to 15 trillion operations per second (TOPS) for AI-related workloads.
The laptop comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe storage. The combination is aimed at everyday users who need sufficient performance for office applications, browsing, media consumption and other routine computing tasks.
Depending on the configuration, Samsung ships the laptop with either Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro 25H2.
Galaxy AI features built into the laptop
One of the major highlights of the Galaxy Book 6 is its integration with Samsung’s Galaxy AI ecosystem.
The laptop supports features including AI Select, AI Cut out and Note Assist. AI Select can help users find or interact with information displayed on the screen, while AI Cut out can be used to remove backgrounds from images.
Note Assist is designed to help users summarise notes and make information easier to manage.
These features extend Samsung’s strategy of bringing AI capabilities across its smartphones, tablets and computers rather than limiting them to mobile devices.
Galaxy Book 6 connects with other Galaxy devices
Samsung has also designed the Galaxy Book 6 to work closely with other Galaxy products.
Features such as Quick Share, Storage Share, Multi Control and Second Screen allow users to share files, access content from compatible Galaxy smartphones and use a Galaxy Tab as an additional display.
This interconnected approach could be particularly useful for people who already use multiple Samsung devices. Instead of treating the laptop as a standalone computer, Samsung is positioning it as part of a wider Galaxy ecosystem.
Multi Control, for instance, can make it easier to control compatible Galaxy devices using the same keyboard and mouse, while Second Screen allows a Galaxy tablet to function as an additional display.
25-hour battery life claimed
Battery life is another major selling point of the Galaxy Book 6.
The laptop packs a 61.2Wh battery, and Samsung claims it can deliver up to 25 hours of battery life on a single charge. Actual battery performance can vary depending on factors such as display brightness, applications, connectivity and workload.
The device supports 45W USB Type-C charging. Samsung says the laptop can gain approximately 33 per cent charge in 30 minutes, giving users a relatively quick way to add battery power when required.
For students, professionals and users who frequently work away from a power outlet, the claimed battery endurance could be one of the Galaxy Book 6’s biggest advantages.
Camera and audio features
For video calls, the Galaxy Book 6 comes with a 2-megapixel camera supporting 1080p video.
The laptop also includes dual-array microphones and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. These features are intended to improve the experience during online meetings, video calls and entertainment.
While the specifications are targeted at everyday computing rather than high-end professional content creation, the combination of the webcam, microphones and speakers gives the laptop the basic hardware required for modern hybrid work and learning.
Samsung Galaxy Book 6 price and availability
The Galaxy Book 6 starts at $799 for the base configuration with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Samsung is also offering versions with 16GB RAM and storage capacities of up to 512GB and 1TB. Pricing can vary depending on the market and configuration.
