Spotify is introducing a series of podcast-focused updates to its mobile app, aimed at improving how users engage with and discover podcasts.

A major addition is the new Following Feed, which offers a centralized space to catch up on all the newest episodes from the shows you already follow. Spotify admits users have struggled to keep up with releases, so this streamlined feed—now found within the main Podcast section on the Home screen—is designed for convenience.

To enhance discovery, Spotify will now display personalized podcast and video podcast recommendations just beneath your shortcuts on the Home tab. These suggestions are curated to be instantly playable or savable. The platform also plans to include brief “quick notes” explaining why certain podcasts were recommended, helping listeners feel more confident exploring fresh content.

For creators, Spotify is rolling out features to improve episode engagement and listener interaction. A new “In This Episode” section will soon appear on podcast episode pages, allowing creators to link to related content—like songs or other media mentioned—available on Spotify. This functionality is expected to roll out in the coming weeks.

Additionally, Spotify will support threaded comment replies and emoji reactions, giving fans more expressive and organized ways to interact with creators and other listeners.

These updates aim to make podcast consumption smoother, discovery richer, and creator-fan interaction more dynamic on Spotify’s growing platform.
