New Delhi: Vivo has launched its latest flagship foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 6, in India, bringing a combination of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, a 200MP primary camera and a large 6,900mAh battery to the premium foldable segment. The phone has been priced at ₹2,19,999 and will go on general sale from October 13.
The Vivo X Fold 6 continues the company’s book-style foldable design rather than adopting the shorter and wider form factor seen on some newer competing devices. Vivo has retained a design broadly similar to the previous X Fold 5 while focusing on upgrades to performance, cameras, battery capacity and software.
The smartphone is available in India in a single configuration with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. It will be offered in black and teal colour options.
Vivo X Fold 6 specifications and display
The Vivo X Fold 6 features an 8.02-inch inner folding display and a 6.51-inch cover display. Both screens use LTPO AMOLED technology and support refresh rates of up to 120Hz, making them suitable for gaming, multimedia and productivity applications.
The foldable has a glass-and-metal construction and comes with an IP59 rating for protection against dust and water ingress. Its long and narrow external design gives users a conventional smartphone-like cover screen while allowing the larger internal display to be used when the device is unfolded.
One of the major changes under the hood is the processor. The X Fold 6 is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, with Vivo describing its version as a “Super Edition”. The chipset is positioned as a flagship performance platform and is expected to handle demanding applications, gaming and multitasking.
The phone runs on Vivo’s new OriginOS 7 software, which forms part of the company’s latest software experience for its premium devices.
200MP camera leads the photography setup
Photography is one of the biggest highlights of the Vivo X Fold 6. The smartphone features a triple rear camera system led by a 200MP primary sensor.
The main camera uses an optically stabilised f/1.68 lens. It is accompanied by a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation, along with another 50MP camera paired with a 15mm ultra-wide lens.
Vivo has also worked with Zeiss on the camera system, while T* coating is included to help reduce glare and ghosting, particularly when photographs are captured under artificial lighting.
For selfies and video calls, the X Fold 6 has two 20MP cameras. One is positioned on the outer cover display, while the second is located on the inner folding screen.
The 200MP sensor gives Vivo a significant specification advantage in the foldable category, where camera systems have traditionally involved compromises compared with conventional flagship smartphones.
Large battery and fast charging
The Vivo X Fold 6 packs a 6,900mAh battery, making battery capacity another major feature of the new foldable.
The battery supports 80W wired fast charging as well as 40W wireless charging. The combination is designed to address one of the biggest challenges with high-performance foldable phones — balancing a slim form factor with sufficient battery capacity for heavy daily use.
With its large battery, flagship processor and high-refresh-rate displays, the X Fold 6 is positioned towards users who expect a premium smartphone to handle extended periods of multitasking, photography, gaming and media consumption.
Vivo X Fold 6 price and availability in India
The Vivo X Fold 6 is priced at ₹2,19,999 in India for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. The smartphone will be available in black and teal colour options, with general sales beginning on October 13, 2026.
The pricing puts the X Fold 6 firmly in India’s ultra-premium smartphone segment, where foldable devices compete not only on hardware but also on design, durability, cameras and software features.
Vivo’s strategy with the X Fold 6 appears to be focused on refining an established foldable design instead of making a dramatic change to the form factor. The company has retained the long-and-narrow design while upgrading key internal components, including the processor, camera system and battery.
The 200MP camera, Dimensity 9500 chipset, 6,900mAh battery and dual 120Hz LTPO AMOLED displays make the X Fold 6 one of Vivo’s most feature-rich foldable smartphones yet. Its success in India, however, will depend on whether consumers consider these upgrades sufficient to justify a price of more than ₹2 lakh.
