Zomato has reintroduced its ‘Intercity Legends’ service on its online food delivery platform under the new name “Legends.” This revamped service now requires a minimum order value of Rs 5,000 and allows users to order food from popular restaurants in different cities. Previously paused in April, the service has returned with enhancements within the Zomato app.

Now named “Legends,” the service enables users to customize their orders by selecting dishes from multiple restaurants in a single transaction. Orders must be placed before 7PM for delivery the following day.

Previously, Zomato provided same-day delivery for specific restaurants, stocking certain dishes. This practice has ceased, and all dishes are now delivered chilled, prepared based on individual orders.

In April, the service tab had displayed a note stating “Closed Now. Will be back soon.”

Meanwhile, Zomato has confirmed ongoing discussions with Paytm regarding a potential acquisition of its movies and ticketing business. No final decision has been reached yet. Zomato aims to enhance its “Going-out” business with this acquisition, aligning with its strategic focus on key areas.

Earlier reports suggested the potential deal could value Paytm’s movies and ticketing business at approximately Rs 1,500 crore. However, Zomato has not disclosed financial details at this stage.

Zomato stated, “We acknowledge that we are in discussions with Paytm for the aforementioned transaction, however, no binding decision has been taken at this stage that would warrant a Board approval and subsequent disclosure in accordance with applicable law.”

If finalized, this acquisition would be Zomato’s second-largest after its 2021 acquisition of the quick commerce platform Blinkit, valued at Rs 4,447 crore in an all-stock deal.
