Teenager’s Death in Bengaluru Sparks Widespread Shock
In a deeply troubling case, the body of a 17-year-old girl was discovered inside a suitcase near railway tracks in Chandapura, Bengaluru, on May 21. Authorities have described the case as one of serious deception and violence.
According to police officials, the young girl had traveled from Bihar to Bengaluru after being misled with false promises of marriage. Investigations revealed that the primary accused, Ashiq Kumar — a factory employee from Kachanayakanahalli — had persuaded her to join him, assuring her of a committed future together, despite already being married.
Once in Bengaluru, the girl was taken to a residence belonging to Kumar’s relative, Mukesh Kumar. Officials stated that a disagreement occurred between the two, which tragically resulted in her death. The accused initially attempted to portray the incident as a case of self-harm.
The house owner, sensing unusual activity, documented the arrival of Kumar and seven others. These photographs proved crucial in the investigation. The group reportedly transported the girl’s body in a suitcase and left it near a railway bridge.
A breakthrough came when a photo of the deceased circulated on social media, prompting her parents in Bihar to approach local authorities. With their help, Suryanagar police traced and arrested eight suspects — including a minor — from Bihar.
Officials emphasized the gravity of the case, calling it a serious violation of trust and safety. Legal action has been initiated against all involved for their respective roles in the incident and for attempting to mislead authorities.
