Tragic Accident Claims Life of Pregnant Woman in Bengaluru
A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday morning near Yadehalli at Nelamangala on National Highway 4 in Bengaluru, claiming the life of 30-year-old Sinchana, who was eight months pregnant. Sinchana was riding pillion on a scooter with her husband, Manjunath, when a truck collided with them. The couple was returning to their village, Thotanahalli, after visiting a temple at Shivagange.
Manjunath, an engineer at a private firm in Bengaluru, sustained minor injuries. The accident happened when a KSRTC bus ahead of them made an abrupt stop to avoid a collision. Manjunath applied the brakes, but a truck transporting M sand, following closely behind, couldn’t halt in time, crashing into their scooter. The impact caused the couple to fall, and tragically, Sinchana came under the truck’s wheels.
Police quickly arrived at the scene, arrested the truck driver, and impounded the vehicle. Superintendent of Police C. K. Baba visited the site to review the situation. The accident location has been identified as a high-risk zone, with over 90 fatal accidents reported in the past six months. Authorities are now inspecting road conditions and discussing measures to reduce further accidents in the area.
This incident highlights the urgent need for improved road safety measures and awareness to prevent such tragic losses.
