
Tragic Drownings in Udupi: Student and Two Others in Critical Condition
In a series of tragic incidents in Udupi, two separate drowning events have led to the loss of one life and critical injuries to two others.
In Karambali, Siddharth Shetty, a 17-year-old student from Indrali and Manipal, tragically drowned while swimming in Karambali lake. Siddharth, who was swimming with two companions, did not resurface, and his body was later recovered. The other two individuals did not enter the water.
In a separate incident, four individuals went swimming in the Nilepadey river in Alevoor. While taking a selfie, two of them fell into the river and became waterlogged. Local residents swiftly intervened, rescuing them and transporting them to a hospital in Manipal. The two individuals are currently reported to be in critical condition.
These incidents underscore the dangers of swimming in unsupervised areas and the importance of water safety.
