
Tragic Incident in Davangere: Five Injured in LPG Cylinder Blast
In a devastating incident at SOG Colony, Ramanagar, Davangere, five individuals suffered severe burn injuries due to an LPG gas cylinder explosion on Tuesday. The victims include Malleshappa (60), Lalitamma (50), Soubhagya (36), Parvatamma (45), and Praveen (35). The condition of Malleshappa, Lalitamma, Soubhagya, and Parvatamma is critical, as they sustained extensive burns amounting to 70%. They are currently undergoing intensive treatment at SS Hi Tech Hospital.
The unfortunate incident occurred when Malleshappa and Lalitamma, a married couple, were preparing tea in the evening and detected a gas leak. Concerned, they summoned their neighbors for assistance. Tragedy struck when Praveen and others entered the kitchen and inadvertently switched on the light, triggering the explosion of the gas cylinder. The blast not only caused severe injuries to the individuals but also damaged nearby utensils.
Initially taken to the district general hospital, the victims were later transferred to SS Hospital for specialized care. The incident highlights the importance of cautious handling of gas appliances and prompt response to gas leaks to prevent such tragic accidents.
