Tragic Loss: Woman Succumbs to Injuries from Gas Cylinder Blast in Suratkal

Mangaluru: Pushpa (72), who sustained severe injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at her residence in Venkataramana Colony, Tadambail, Suratkal, tragically passed away on December 26 after battling for her life in the ICU for nine days.
The blast occurred on December 18 when Pushpa and her sister-in-law, Vasanti, wife of the house owner Vamana, unknowingly lit the stove amidst a gas leak. The resulting explosion engulfed the house in flames, leaving both women critically injured. Vasanti remains in the ICU, receiving intensive treatment.
Locals rushed the victims to the hospital immediately after the incident. The tragedy underscores the importance of gas safety awareness to prevent such devastating accidents.
