Days after a Gurgaon court ordered that Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner and YouTuber Elvish Yadav be charged with using forbidden snakes in a video, Elvish and singer Rahul Yadav, also known as Fazalpuria, were both booked by Gurgaon Police on Saturday. In the NCR, this is Yadav’s third FIR.

The plea in court was filed by Saurabh Gupta, an animal rights activist working with People for Animals run by BJP MP Maneka Gandhi. It stated that Yadav and 50 other people were seen using various snakes, which are prohibited as per the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, in a viral video. The plea further alleged that the video was shot in a mall in Gurgaon, adding that Yadav along with unknown persons indulged in other illegal activities as well.

Gupta added that he tried to file a complaint with the police after viewing the video, but to no avail. The complainant claimed that he met the Gurgaon Commissioner in person on November 6 after sending an email to his official ID on October 15 of last year. He took his case to court when nothing was done.

In accordance with IPC sections 294, 34, and sections 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, the Badshahpur police station filed a formal complaint following the court’s order.

Earlier, fellow YouTuber Sagar Thakur had lodged a complaint against Yadav in Gurgaon for allegedly assaulting him.

In Noida, police booked Yadav for allegedly selling snake venom at rave parties in the National Capital Region. He was granted bail in this case.
