Commuters in Bengaluru, notorious for its traffic congestion, recently had a peculiar experience during a gridlock when they encountered a car ahead of them displaying two unsettling faces.

Formerly known as Twitter, Seshal Jain shared a brief video this week from within dense Bengaluru traffic, capturing the view of a cab ahead. The video highlighted two eerie masks attached to the backseat headrests of a Swift Dzire, resembling characters reminiscent of the Joker from DC Comics. These masks created an illusion of two figures peering back at fellow commuters, sparking amusement across social media.

Jain tagged the popular X account Peak Bengaluru, which responded with a laughing emoji. The post quickly gained over 1,800 views shortly after being shared on X.

“If you think Bengaluru traffic can’t get any more interesting, remember the story of a man who found love amid road chaos?” reminisced one user. They recounted a tale from two years prior when a Reddit user met his future wife during a frustrating traffic jam near Sony World Signal in the city’s IT hub. What began as a dinner diversion due to construction at Ejipura flyover blossomed into a three-year courtship culminating in marriage.

Bengaluru, India’s most congested city, showed a marginal improvement in the latest global rankings of the world’s most congested cities by Amsterdam-based location technology specialist TomTom. It currently holds the position as the sixth slowest city worldwide in terms of traffic, according to the report.
