An X user, Piyush Kukkar, shared dashcam videos depicting two incidents of “staged harassment” he encountered while driving on Bengaluru’s outskirts at around 10:25 PM on Monday.
In the first video, captured at 10:24:50, Kukkar’s path was blocked by a person on a scooter, a tactic he claims is commonly used to create obstructions. The second video shows a Bolero with a partially scratched number plate honking behind him. The Bolero’s driver forced Kukkar to stop, got out, and shouted at him. Additionally, a two-wheeler rider made a U-turn and approached Kukkar’s car closely, but avoided collision after apparently being alerted by the Bolero driver to the dashcam.
Kukkar believes the presence of his dashcam prevented the situation from escalating. He stressed the importance of installing both front and rear dashcams for safety, as this type of harassment is becoming common in the area.
The videos sparked concern on social media, with users praising Kukkar’s handling of the situation and expressing worry over the increasing frequency of such incidents. Kukkar also tagged local police, urging them to take necessary action to ensure citizen safety on these roads.
