Udupi: In a dramatic turn following the recent marriage of Bigg Boss fame Chaitra Kundapur to her longtime partner Srikant Kashyap, her father Balakrishna Naik has publicly disowned her, levelling serious accusations that have caused a sensation.
Speaking to the media, Naik expressed anguish over being excluded from his daughter’s wedding. “I wasn’t properly invited. As a father, I can’t accept this marriage,” he said. Naik alleged that both Chaitra and her husband are “thieves” and accused them of being involved in financial fraud, including sharing embezzled money in the Govinda Babu Poojary case.
Naik, who claims to be a hotel worker, said Chaitra and her mother distanced themselves from him for money. “She asked me for ₹5 lakh before the wedding. Now I’m an orphan in the house I built,” he lamented. He further accused Chaitra’s husband of lacking integrity and blamed him for damaging the family’s reputation.
“She imagined herself as the head of the household, took loans in various names, and disgraced the family. I am ashamed to call her my daughter,” he said, insisting that she should not be given public respect or recognition.
Naik concluded by questioning how someone who disrespects her own father could claim to serve the country.
